After a year off due to COVID, the Met Gala Red Carpet returned with a bang! While it wasn’t on the traditional first Monday in May – we were not let down by way of outfits, ranging from wearable glamour to the avant-garde.
This year’s theme “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” was represented in both nostalgic and forward thinking looks. Many chose to work with American designers, but there were stunning international looks too.
These are a few of our favourites:
Hailee Steinfeld in Iris Van Herpen.
Everyone was scrambling to figure out who this star was… to find out it was Hailee Steinfeld, debuting a totally new look. Sporting a sharp, blonde bob instead of her usual long, brown hair, she had a complete make over to match her intricate, leaf inspired dress.
Jennifer Lopez in Ralph Lauren.
J.Lo is superwoman. Is it just us or does she look like the same, strong, beautiful woman she was 10 years ago? (Tell us your secrets!) We loved her western inspired outfit, complete with fringed fabric, a faux fur bolero, a leather belt and choker, a statement necklace and hat, topped off with sky high silver heels.
Hailey Bieber in Saint Laurent.
It doesn’t get more classic American than a black, strapless velvet dress. Hailey’s stylish look was even more powerful next to her husband, Justin Bieber.
Kate Hudson in Michael Kors.
Looking pretty in pink and freshly engaged, Kate Hudson oozed class on the red carpet in a matching pink crop and skirt with a statement fur coat. We love matching sets and Kate’s is perfect!
Emily Ratajkowski in Vera Wang.
The model set hearts racing in this stunning red dress. The corset inspired bodice with sheer cut outs was balanced by the a flowing train and oversized, feminine flower at her neck.
